Hi Everyone

Greetings from Jordan!  I am on my annual visit to my dear friends in Jordan who I met in 2012 and have visited ever since (it’s a long story!).  I arrived here on Saturday to find the place blanketed in snow.  Yes, it snows in the Middle East.  My quarters here aren’t 5 star, I can guarantee you.  My family that I stay with is very large and we all squeeze into a small apartment with one fairly primitive bathroom.  What they lack in possessions is replaced 1000 fold with generosity and happiness.  The only problem is getting to bed early, as after the evening meal its visiting time and that can go on way into the night.  I will be bringing back with me some lovely treats of Palestinian embroidery for the nest and the nestling!  I have left sending out your parcels to a very competent parcel elf so all is in good hands.  He is following orders well.

By the time I write next week bao bab will have arrived which is rather exciting and Minihaha and Milky will not be far behind it.  So lots of lovelies are on the way.  I have also just placed an order with the very lovely Bamboo Design.  Yum!

I love Charlie Belle, all handmade by Kate from Canberra, but it is time they walked out the door.  All Charlie Belle is now reduced to $5.00 to make room for the packing elf left at home.  While I love this label I do realize now that it is difficult for Mum’s at home to search for it quickly online as they are all different, so lesson learnt for next time, so grab a bargain while you can  - the extra few minutes searching will be worth it.

So until next week, enshalla, ( the Arabic way of saying ‘god willing’)  greetings from Jordan.

Rebecca

Quickly, quickly!

Hi everyone.  I hope back to school has gone smoothly for everyone, especially for the first timers, both nestlings and Mum’s – its hard saying goodbye at the school gate for the first time.

I have a regularly skype time with my little grand nestling.  Sunday afternoon is our time to have girly chat.  She amazes me, every week she has changed and is doing something different, even little things.  Hello, has now been abbreviated to the standard ‘hi’!

Well, let’s get down to business.  The winter stock, as I’ve been saying is just around the corner.  But first to tempt you with is from New York.  Now close your eyes and think of John Fitzgerald Kennedy in the Hamptons for the weekend, maybe a spot of yachting, touch of golf, guests for dinner, and a night cap.  So what does a smart young gentleman wear when JFK and Jacqui ask you to pop around for a while.  Problem solved for our gentleman nestlings – Andy & Evan!  Nice pair of slacks (think of where you are going) and a sweater – elbow patches of courses.  If you are not quite walking yet, don’t worry, smart, sophisticated can still apply to you.  See the collection at:

Don’t forget the clearance racks – still some wonderful finds available.

2 February 2015

My goodness it’s the second month of the year already!

Firstly today I’d like to say thanks for everyone who has placed orders over the last few weeks while I’ve been to and fro with my Mum in Hospital.  I have made a few slip ups and I do apologise to any one effected.  My Mum is now in a nursing home for a while which is a bit traumatic, but that is life.  I’d also like to thank one of my customers who has kindly given me a tip on making things easier for you to access from my blog and newsletter.  Any advice is most welcome as I’m still on a big learning curve.

When I took over nestling I had in mind that gradually I would introduce some accessories for Mum and I am happy to say that my first little pieces for Mum have now arrived, lovely Lettuce Scarves from HLA London.  Lettuce says they are about two things, “fun and loveliness” and they are “deliciously different.  I can attest to that, I have a few myself and they are just the thing to put a sparkle in your day when you are rushing out the door to get kids to school or day care and you haven’t had time to focus on yourself.  Lettuce scarves are very reasonably priced and are available now at:

More Charlie Belle, handmade by Kate have been added to the website.  I met Kate a number of years ago at markets in Canberra.  She turns basic items into something special.  I started to wear her tshirts and sleeveless tops then bought a few items for my granddaughter.  Singlets, onesies, which she calls ruffle bums and a few tshirts are available at 30% off.  Just enter the code “Charlie” at checkout.

I am in the process of adding some lovely little accessories, squishy toys and things for the bedroom and they will be available later this week so check out facebook or google and instagram.

In the meantime, there are still clearance items available for boys at:

And for girls at:

Till next week
All the best for you and your nestling,

Rebecca
